Since
their birth in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1997, TRIGGER have built up a huge
body of high energy punk rock that has gone largely unrecognized by
the music press and has made many indiepop journalists run for the door.
A few real connoisseurs of pure adrenaline-pumping classic punk rock
& roll have recognized the honest, devoted music of this criminally
over-looked band. The same taste for bands like MC5, Small Faces, Sonics,
Undertones, Ramones, AC/DC, The Who, Roky Erickson as well as contemporaries
like the Didjits, Super-suckers, New Bomb Turks, Monster Magnet and
the split up of CRY and ZOOBOX, their previous bands, were a good reason
for these three slick cats to form a new band to fill the gap in Gothenburg's
R'n'R scene. With
the release of their debut album "Fortysevenhours" (MIMO/ZUMA),
in 2000, the "Trigger style" was born: a killer mass of energy
and excitement. After the release of "Fortysevenhours" Trigger
got in the van and hit the road for a european tour. It was a blast,
distorted, raw, crude but energetic and entertaining as hell.Back
in the rehearsal room new songs were made for the split CD/LP "Action...Go!"
(Devilsshitburner) and a new full-length album for the Italian label
Nicotine Records. Trigger received quite a lot of attention outside
Sweden with their second album "Distort & Explode" from
2002. There you will find 12 tracks that combine 60'S - 70's rock and
heavy metal punk rock in a very unique fashion that set a new standard
for Swedish rock'n' roll.
A journalist at da Marnix miagie zine wrote: "High quality punk rock'n'roll influenced by y'r usual rock'n'roll heroes. This Swedish three piece blast off 12 Rockets and blow the whole fuckin' competition outta the window! Well now those windows are all opened I think I'll blasts this motherfucker out loud on the streets so all people can get a hint of what REAL music is all about!! " Trigger
spent 2002-2003 touring, playing sold-out shows everywhere. In November
2003 Trigger went back into the studio again. |
